The thing is I strongly crave to visit those places which have made their place in my heart because I read about them sometimes during my childhood and they have stuck with me ever since. Coorg was one such place. It was almost calling to me since ages. And I managed to visit it at the time when....... (I just can not the form the sentence descriptive enough so i am jut letting it be)
Another was Andaman and Nicobar islands. Done and dusted. Angkor wat, fingers crossed.
If I take a minute to jot down places, I have a few. Cairo, for the pyramids. Kyoto, for the serenity and feel of Japanese era gone by. Edinburgh for Scottish highland and the castles. Polynesia. London, only to visit harry potter tour and the Kew botanical gardens.
If there is one garden in the world which I absolutely want to visit, that is Kew botanical gardens.
It is largest repository of varieties of plants in one singular place. People may want to visit London for Birmingham palace but I want the Kew gardens. And while going through their website today (because why not, London may be far but not their website!), I cam across the international garden photographer of the year contest. I read about this before, but for the first time had the opportunity to peruse the beautiful works. And my god, what a collection of beauty. How the entries were even judged is beyond me since I liked some of the third their photographs more than the winners.
Foe examples, see this.
In first look, it appeared to me as plastic coated wires wound ina bunch. but no, these are actully the stamens of bottlebrush plants about to open. i have seen bottle brush flowers a thousand times but never imagined it looked something like this, ever. whoever said there are no limit to imagination, defienely forgot about our own handicaps. the limits we apply.
and there is is this saying, beauty is in eyes of beholder. who would have though, mould on peach can look this beautiful. Hey, but Fan Yi did!
